National Honor Society
MEMBERSHIP
Section I - Membership in this chapter shall be known as active, honorary, and graduate. Active members become graduate members at graduation. Graduate and honorary members have no voice or vote in chapter affairs.

Section 2 - Membership in this chapter is an honor bestowed on deserving students by the faculty and shall be based on scholarship, leadership, service, and character criteria.

Section 3 - Eligibility
a. Candidates eligible for induction to this chapter must be members of the junior or senior class. Students may not be inducted after the fall of their senior year.
b. To be eligible for selection to membership in this chapter, the candidate must have been in attendance for a period of at least one semester at MHVP High School.
c. Candidates eligible for selection to the chapter shall have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or a B grade or a weighted CGPA of 3.09. This scholastic level of achievement shall remain fixed. It shall be the required minimum level of academic achievement for admission to candidacy. All students who rise in scholarship to or above this standard may be admitted to candidacy for selection into the society.
d. Candidates eligible for selection to the chapter shall have at least 30 student service hours documented by the school’s SSL Coordinator.
e. Candidates who meet the grade level, attendance, SSL hour, and GPA standard requirements will be considered based on their service, leadership, and character.
f. There will be a moving up of eligible sophomore students within the NHS induction ceremony.
